On Hold

Well. The Trailer has to go on Hold.

It is with great regret that work has to stop for a few months while repairing a roof in the yard. I managed to break my leg in 4 places after a ladder decided to slide away from under me.

I'd just been up on the roof to check a few measurements.

And while a positive outlook on finishing a job, which my 9-year-old son (for web reason, I call him Boo) and I had started over the weekend. It needed doing as the water is just gushing into the old cabin.

That's "Boo" in the Background.

I had just got my footing on the ladder with one leg and at the same moment realised it was sliding under me. In that split second, I looked for an escape route to no avail.

Next thing I'm on the deck screaming to high heaven nobody came at this point. I must have passed out coming around almost 45 mins later.

I managed to crawl back to the temporary unit full of mud, where bits of first aid training kicked in. Shivering severely, I think this was from the shock of falling. It was time to strip the mud clothes off and get into bed to warm up quickly.

A few paracetamols and lots of screaming and moaning, later I made the trip to A&E.

Almost 5 hours there, and having been given a CT Scan and two lots of X-rays. They found two physical breaks, one to the side of the knee, the other on the ankle. One fracture on the opposite side of the ankle and a chipped bone again on the ankle.

So In all, it's been a dreadful, bad and sad day. But I will be back. The build will go on. Thanks for following my journey.
